ALP Nishikawa's R&D Centre at Lalru, Punjab is Govt. recognized wherein all the research & testing activities are conducted starting from Raw Material (Like Polymer, carbon process oil, etc.) to the final parts taking into consideration the global testing standards.

With superior internal testing capabilities, we are able to do majority of the testing in-house, and the remaining testings are being done from accredited external laboratories (NABL or as per ISO/IEC 17025:2005) or using the facilities of the JV, Nishikawa Rubber Company of Japan.

R&D Policy

  • To promote Innovation culture in the company in order to meet & exceed customer’s expectation & Business challenges
  • Reward & recognition
  • Extensive communication

Manpower

ALP Nishikawa's 26 Member R&D Team is equipped with highly Educated, experienced & trained personnels to ensure best quality results.

Laboratory Process Control

The environment is monitored and the controls are appropriate for our laboratory based on the calibration standards and the accuracy required. Temperature or humidity does not affect the integrity of parts or equipment in our laboratory. Cleanliness of the area and equipment is accomplished through daily activities.

The standards used for testing are:

  • Customer specific requirements –TM (SS5562, TS75006), M&M standards (6809, G010094), Nissan standards (NES)
  • JASO standard-JASO M 305
  • ASTM standards

  • ISO standards
  • IS standards (IS 3400 etc.)
  • JIS standards (JIS Z 8703, JIS K 6262 etc.)
  • SAE standards (SAE J 1545, SAE J 2527 etc.)

In-house calibration of basic test equipment: Standard gages used for production monitoring are calibrated per the required procedures. Masters are calibrated by an outside source

Accredited Laboratories: Commercial/independent laboratory facilities that we use for calibration of the laboratory equipment as well as testing of products. The standards used for testing are:

Testing Capabilities

Laboratory Testing and Calibration Methods:
  • Material inspection
  • In process Inspection: Mixing process which calls for the Mooney viscosity, rheological studies, specific gravity studies and other physical properties. Part is destroyed after usage.
  • Dimensional testing: Initial sample or in-process inspection for sample parts
  • Final product test: As per customer requirement. Test which verifies the properties of the products which is listed out in the DVPR (Specific to customer requirements) like hardness, tensile strength, ozone resistance, weather resistance, low temperature test, CLD, Insertion and retention, paint film contamination, repeated cold test, thermal cycle, shrinkage, etc.
